Investigation of the antifungal activity of lichen (Usnea longissima) extracts against Fusarium graminearum

The aim of this study was to investigate the antifungal effects and molecular changes caused by Usnea longissima Ach. extracts against Fusarium greaminearum. In agar well diffusion assay, zone inhibition increased as concentration in both methanol acetone (1, 10, 20 50 mg/ml). terms bioactivities, 1 mg/ml active, while other concentrations were very active. At level, extract analyzed qPCR with cat, mst20, tri5 genes, which are associated antioxidation, apoptosis, trichothecene production, respectively. Transcript levels decreased (0.29 fold) cat (2.41 mst20 (1.48 increased. Findings from showed that U. could be natural agent worldwide phytopathogen F. graminearum.
